Micro & Macro

Throughout the month of April, artists in the Open Sketchbook mentoring program explored microscopic and close-up perspectives while working with our Everything's Related: Micro and Macro theme. We viewed cropped iPhone photos and electron microscopic image to develop works on paper that took into account the artists and the viewers relationship to their subjects. Additionally, we considered micro/macrocosms and their visual dynamics including scale, distance, and level of detail. These were then considered when choosing materials and processes and how these convey the sense of closeness and/or distance in works on paper.
