About the Studio

KB Studio, founded in 2016 as a brick & mortar fine art studio and education center in Chicago’s culturally diverse and artful Rogers Park neighborhood, has transitioned to a full-service on-line art education and related professional services model as a result of the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic.

Our online studio now offers professional art classes and workshops for adults, collaborative projects and exhibitions, topical seminars and behind-the-scenes videos. Our professional services menu includes matting and framing, home beautification/organization, art curation and installation.

KB Studio is owned and operated by Chicago artist/educator/studio director Kaye Buchman. Through her longstanding commitment to her beloved studio and teaching practices, she is dedicated to sharing her passion for the transformative power of art through teaching and community-building. She has taught for over 30 years at many prominent colleges and art centers including the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Oxbow School of Art, City Colleges of Chicago, and Hyde Park Art Center.

Kaye’s multi-media studio practice explores the intersection of story and nature through sketchbooks, large-scale drawing, mixed-media painting, printmaking, bookmaking, and animation. She has exhibited her work nationally, won numerous awards, and attended residencies at Oxbow School of Art and Ragdale. She holds a BFA in Printmaking from Illinois State University and a MFA in Painting & Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
