Re-Imagine: Expanding Studio Practices offers mentorship and community for visual artists seeking to broaden and enhance their current studio work in response to current interests, the changing natural environment, lived experiences, and evolving materials research. Artists will be encouraged to work in series, cycles, composites, and multiples to deepen their connections to chosen subjects and use their sketchbooks to develop new conceptual and technical approaches. Re-imagining new visual worlds while maintaining a vibrant contemporary studio practice is the goal.
Drawing, mixed-media, and painting practices are supported by weekly sketchbook exercises, conceptual challenges, and the sharing of new work with our dedicated community of artists. Participants meet weekly for one-on-one mentoring sessions and for Tuesday night group meetings. One-on-one sessions can be scheduled on Wednesdays, Thursday, and Fridays in-person (following Covid protocols) or on Zoom. Appointment times are arranged upon registration.
