Re-Imagine: Expanding Studio Practices offers mentorship and community for visual artists seeking to broaden and enhance their current studio practices in response to our rapidly changing natural environment, sense of place and lived experience, and material choices and how they best express concepts and concerns. Artists will be encouraged to work in series, cycles, composites, and multiples to deepen their connections to chosen subjects and use their sketchbooks to explore new conceptual and technical approaches. Re-imagining new visual worlds, expanding upon current directions, and maintaining a vibrant contemporary studio practice is the goal.
Drawing, mixed-media, and painting practices are supported by weekly sketchbook exercises, conceptual challenges, and the sharing of new work with our dedicated community of artists. Participants meet weekly for one-on-one mentoring sessions and for Tuesday night group meetings. One-on-one sessions can be scheduled on Wednesdays, Thursday, and Fridays in-person (following Covid protocols) or on Zoom. Appointment times are arranged upon registration.
