Open Sketchbook

$270.00

December 1 - 22, 2025*

The Open Sketchbook mentorship program offers support for visual artists seeking to develop their studio work through in-depth sketchbook research and experimentation. Conceptual and technical skills are explored through weekly thematic prompts that focus on the forms and phenomena originating in the natural world, stories and symbols embedded in our collective culture, and other related subjects of interest. A wide range of contemporary materials, methods, and approaches are explored.

Tuesday night Zoom meetings on December 2, 9 and 16 allow participants to work together, share ideas, and discuss art with a supportive community of artists. Two 1-hour individual online or in-person mentoring sessions are also included and can be scheduled with the instructor on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Creating meaningful, expressive sketchbook work through dedicated practice and exploring these investigations beyond the sketchbook are the goals of this course.

*This is a 3-week session. No classes December 23rd - January 2nd.
