Participants in this on-site workshop will meet at Loyola Beach Park to explore the water patterns of beautiful Lake Michigan. Working in both wet and dry media, emphasis will be placed on using gestural mark-making to capture the energies found in the water and the broader sensibilities experienced along the expansive lakefront. While drawing and painting on the beach, the pier, and with feet in the water, experiential art practices will capture the playful nature of water and its elusive form.
Drawing and painting materials will be provided but students may want to bring their own sketchbooks suitable for both wet and dry media and their cameras.
In the event of inclement weather, a future date will be set or students can request a full refund.
This online workshop is open to students of all levels. No prior drawing or painting experience is required.
