Through online mentorship, students will explore the artist's sketchbook through a variety of subjects, materials, and methods. Personalized sketchbook assignments offer opportunities for in depth conceptual and technical growth, encourage daily drawing habits, and provide an open and welcoming space for visual documentation of all kinds. Assignments will focus on both traditional and contemporary approaches and materials through a variety of media including graphite, pen and ink, color pencil, watercolor, collage, and mixed-media.
Weekly one-on-one Zoom meetings will provide structured time for sharing sketchbook pages of new and ongoing work, conversations about technical and material approaches suitable for books, and discussions about ways to expand subjects and ideas in and outside of the sketchbook. Students are also invited to participate in our Tuesday Evening Community meetings to show and discuss their work, work together on collaborative projects, and take part in creativity-enhancing challenges.
Early registration is highly recommended to secure a recurring one-hour weekly one-on-one meeting time. Enrolled students will be contacted for appointment scheduling after checkout.
